30-day ban of Airfreight household goods or personal effects to USA

Following the recent discovery of a series of suspected explosive devices aboard cargo flights, please be informed that new security procedures have been introduced to all air freight destined for USA.

As of now, a 30-day ban has been imposed on all cargo considered to be an elevated risk - including all household goods or personal effects traveling from any points of the world to USA. Additionally, as the devices were intercepted in an ink-cartridge shipment whilst in transit in the UK, high capacity toner and ink cartridges will be banned entirely from passenger flights, according to the US Department of Homeland Security.

Multiple airlines have already announced more stringent security requirements from clients wishing to ship by air freight, and we anticipate similar announcements from all airlines flying to USA.

These requirements include prohibitions on any shipment paid for in cash, shippers without established shipping addresses and any cargo forwarded by a foreign carrier.

New measures are expected to cause substantial delays to shipments, reduce cargo capacity and increase associated costs.
