New Zealand and Sweden couldn't be further apart - some 17,000 kms in fact ! What a coincidence then that Warwick Woodley from New Zealand Van Lines and Jens Ostergaard from ICM Kungsholms in Sweden should both be meeting with Asian Express International Movers on the same day in Hong Kong, a midpoint between these two countries. Warwick was on his way to the FIDI Conference in Lisbon and Jens was nearing the end of a family holiday in Asia ........ both the Kiwi and the Swede thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Andy Mak, Managing Director of Asian Express Group and Corin Packwood, Sales Manager of Asian Express in Hong Kong for the day on May 26th 2011. Despite any cultural differences all agreed the local beer wasn't too bad at all ! The visit also allowed Warwick and Jens to meet the Asian Express team in their new office in downtown Hong Kong as well as visiting their 55,000 square feet warehouse facilities in the New Territories. This presented a great opportunity to discuss both the differences and similarities of the moving business in New Zealand, Sweden, Hong Kong and China. The Asian Express' headquarters is located in a brand new "Grade A" office building in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. Facilities include shopping, restaurants, concierge and also a Sky Garden. The building was constructed with the environment in mind, each floor having its own balcony space. The new warehouse facilities also follow an environmental friendly theme. Located in the countryside the compound comprises outdoor and indoor space with in-house recycling facilities, state of the art security and also air-conditioned storage.
