Lion Dance to celebrate the Chinese New Year !! | |||||
As part of the continued expansion, AEMovers Hong Kong celebrated their Grade "A" new Hong Kong Head Office and the Chinese New Year of the Ox in fine traditional style. A traditional Chinese Lion Dance was arranged in their new office. The Lion Dance is a local ceremony whereby evil spirits are exorcised, and good luck and fortune are summoned in. The huge colourful lions are operated by lion dancers from martial arts schools and the skill and technique of the dancers is unsurpassed. In return for good luck and prosperity the business ties a red pocket filled with money to a head of lettuce. The lion will then approach the lettuce like a curious cat, consume the lettuce and spit out the leaves but not the money. The dancers then receive the money as part of the mutual transaction. In the movie clip below, Mr. Andy Mak (Managing Director of AEMovers) can be seen feeding the Lion lucky money to ensure good luck and prosperity for many years to come.
